I believe deeply in the core Republican principles of limited government, where the reach of federal authority is intentionally constrained so that power remains close to the people—in city halls, county commissions, and state legislatures. I champion a free-market economy that rewards innovation and hard work, and I insist on fiscal responsibility to ensure that every tax dollar is spent wisely and with accountability. Above all, I see the individual as the bearer of personal liberty and responsibility: when government trusts its citizens to make their own choices, we unlock human potential and create a society built on initiative, enterprise, and self-reliance.

At the same time, I have great respect for the Democratic commitment to an expanded role for government in addressing social and economic challenges. Their emphasis on centralized decision-making at the federal level reflects a belief that strategic, large-scale investments can deliver critical infrastructure, social safety nets, and regulatory guardrails. By advocating for a partially planned economy and collective equity, Democrats strive to ensure that no one is left behind and that our most vulnerable neighbors receive the support they need to thrive.

Too often, the real division in Washington is driven not by the thoughtful center of either party but by the extremist fringes on the far right and far left. These radical voices inflame our differences into bitter conflicts, drown out constructive debate, and leave the American people without the leadership they deserve. Left to their own devices, principled Republicans and Democrats—who share a commitment to our nation’s prosperity and security—can work together to find common-sense solutions that uplift every community.

I’m convinced that our greatest strength lies in unity, not division. When we focus on shared goals—good jobs, safe neighborhoods, quality education, and responsible governance—we become far more productive than when we’re splintered by partisan rancor. By bridging reasonable Republican and Democratic ideas, we can forge a path forward that harnesses the best of both traditions, delivers results for families in Oregon’s 6th District, and proves that teamwork truly makes the American dream possible.
